The Principal and Vice-principal are responsible for the discipline in the school, with the assistance of all the Mother’s Pride teachers. There is, at Mother’s Pride Academy, a hard core of common discipline necessary for the smooth running of the school. Punctuality, regularity, neatness, uniformity of dress, courtesy, consideration for others and co-operative spirit are insisted. We also encourage initiative and positive expression of creative energy. Freedom and autonomy towards good morals are the basis of discipline. The students are left free to accept the atmosphere of the school, to learn in an open and co-operative manner. The school has no penal system for handling students who are found to be regularly unco-operative. Parents are asked simply to put them in another school which may be more suited to them. Freedom in constructive academic matters and its counterparts, responsibility have to be carried on slowly and freely in an accepting atmosphere in which students exercise judgment and make free choices about issues appropriate to their age and level of understanding. Students’ mistakes are tolerated as part of the process of learning, but repeated misbehavior against the spirit of the school and hindering other students from peaceful learning is not tolerated
Without losing the spirit of the RTE Act, the Principal reserves the right to dismiss, from the school, any student whose conduct is, in his opinion, against the right moral tone of the school. Immorality in words or deeds, willful damage to school property, stern insubordination, contempt of any authority, bringing dangerous articles, callous attitude towards school regulations are sufficient grounds for dismissal. The Principal, without violation of the RTE Act, is the sole judge regarding the termination of a student. Parents, when they apply for their wards’ admission to Mother’s Pride Academy, are understood to accept the Principal’s judgment in such matters as final and conclusive.
All absence from school even with prior permission must be explained by the parent in the “Absence Record” page, found in the school Diary before the student is admitted into the class. If the leave is for more than 3 days, besides the note in the diary, a separate letter must be added and sanctioned by the Vice-principal. An absence of more than 3 days, before or after a vacation, without prior permission, renders the student liable to come with his/her parent to the school and explain the reason. At the start of the academic year, the first-day absence will render the seat vacant which would then be allotted to another applicant.
A student returning to school after an infection or infectious/contagious disease must produce a doctor’s certificate declaring him/her cured. When there is any such sickness at home, the school authorities should be informed immediately.
It aims at going beyond mere schooling and simple instructions. We integrate the scholastic and non-scholastic activities and create a system to make students compulsorily involved in such activities to have their life-skills. Such activities as an integral part of education, compounded with one event at least in one academic year to showcase the impressive persona of a great person whose dignity is worthy in the eyes of others, are taken up to help our students discover and foster their talents.
The wearing of the prescribed School Uniform at school is compulsory. We expect students to have a proper hair-cut, the hair ends well above the shirt collar.
